Jordan’s Principle-Child First Initiative Youth Mentor

Full time with duties and responsibilities outlined as:

1) Administrative:

  • Must report directly to the JP-CFI Case Manager.
  • Provide safe and courteous service in a professional manner.
  • Abide by the Gambler First Nation Health Administration Policy and the terms and conditions of the JP-CFI Program as described by Health Canada.
  • Provide patient advocacy as needed.
  • Must maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records.
  • Must complete all reports required from Health Canada on a timely manner.
  • Must comply with all regulations and requirements deemed necessary in accordance with accreditation standards to assist Gambler First Nation Health JP-CFI Program success with achieving accredited status.
  • Must be professional as all times, reliable, and committed to client services, great communication skills, and passionate about helping Gambler First Nation community members.
  • Other as deemed necessary.

2) Financial:

  • Ensure policy and procedure is followed in-regards to financial matters at the direction of the JP-CFI Case Manager.
  • Other as deemed necessary.

3) Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to possess a valid driver’s license and provide a copy to their personnel file on an annual basis
    once obtained.
  • Must be willing to obtain a Class 4 driver’s license (if required).
  • Must have a clean driving record and submit a copy of their driver’s abstract on an annual basis for their personnel file once a valid driver’s license is obtained.
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check and Child/Adult Abuse Registry Check and submit a copy for their personnel file on an annual basis.
  • Must require computer skills to provide data entry or be willing to be trained.
  • Must be able to do daily filing.
  • Must have a valid and up-to-date CPR and First Aid Certification or the willingness to train.
  • Must have Food Handler Training Certificates or the willingness to train.
  • Must be comfortable with preparing food for a group of children aged 1-17.
  • Must be comfortable with changing diapers, potty training toddlers and other such duties with children aged 1- 17.
  • Must be comfortable with daily cleaning duties in and outside of the JP-CFI building.
  • Other as deemed necessary.

4) Other:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Health Leadership.
  • Other as deemed necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Repetitive hand tasks through out the day
