Job Posting – Gambler First Nation Housing Manager

Supervisor:     Community Leadership

Duties:

  • Report to the community leadership on a regular basis
  • Meet with housing committee on a regular basis and must attend all said meeting
  • Evaluate Housing Needs and Resources Assessment
  • Review and develop an Asset Mapping Assessment
  • Design and follow through on Needs Assessment
  • Analyze the information collected
  • Prepare and share the draft report with housing committee
  • Finalize share and evaluate report with Chief & Council
  • Review priority housing needs and set goals and objectives
  • Collect data as determined by Chief & Council
  • Update work plan for housing planning process
  • Prepare annual workplans
  • Review community PIF with Chief & Council
  • Compile a current financial resource list
  • Determine projected revenues and expenditures
  • Look at other revenue considerations
  • Prepare for maturing sec. 95 homes
  • Meet all reporting requirements
  • Create/renew an evaluation plan
  • Develop contracts with contractors
  • And duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • A post secondary education degree and/or diploma
  • Must be subject criminal record/vulnerable person and child abuse registry check
  • Must always be professional
  • Knowledge of Gambler First Nation culture, customs, value and traditions
  • Ability to understand and be fluent in ojibway would be an asset
  • Must possess computer/technical skills
  • Must possess effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Must be willing to take professional upgrade/skill opportunities
  • Must be willing to respond to travel requirements deemed necessary for community housing
  • Must abide by and respect Gambler First Nation policies and procedures
  • Must maintain and utilize the equipment/assets in accordance to policy and procedure
  • Salary and wages are negotiable pending qualification, experience and initiative funding agreement
