CPNP Worker
Reports to: Health Director
Qualifications:
- ECE diploma or relative experience in working in the area of infant development.
- Experience working with infants.
- Experience providing follow-up services to each participant in the healthy lifestyle process.
- Experience in identifying the prenatal nutrition needs of low-income at risk Indigenous women and teenagers in Gambler First Nation.
- Experience in group facilitation and programming.
- Knowledge of social barriers and challenges faced by urban Indigenous families.
- Experience in culture based programs for children.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent reporting skills.
- Excellent research skills.
- Experience working within a community based organization.
- Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable vehicle.
- Training completed or needed within 6 months of hiring:
- First Aid/CPR, Self Harm Awareness, Suicide Awareness/Intervention, Crisis De-Escalation, Diversity/Cross Cultural Training, Indigenous Awareness, Trauma Informed Practice, Abuse Protocol
- CRC/CAR/CCAR must be completed within 3 months of hire and updated annually
Job Description:
The CPNP Coordinator will coordinate and ensure that pregnant women and/or women with infants 0-1 years of age are provided information that will inform a healthier lifestyle, within in the terms and mandate of Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Tracking statistics and outcomes.
- Prepare and submitting annual reports and work plans.
- Complete monthly program calendar for distribution.
- Create healthy working relationships with community service providers, children and parents.
- Day to day implementation of the program and program objectives based on community needs.
- Work with clients and families supporting the areas of culture, crafts and traditions.
- Meal planning.
- Activities required to support program delivery.
